Lee Sula

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

It was pointed out to me that the “Don’t Kiss Me” lady from my previous blog entry is Lee Sula, 1 dan pro in Korea. Here is another photo of hers, after the game with Umezawa Yukari 5 dan of Japan;

In the next round of the 6th Jeongganjang (Women’s World Championship) Cup, Lee Sula defeated Wang Han 1 dan pro from China:

“Don’t Kiss Me”

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

The title of this blog entry, “Don’t Kiss Me”, is the title of this Korean site news.

I cannot read Korean, so the English title intrigued me a lot :-)

The first (misleading) clue was the English title of the tournament, from one of the photos: “The 6th International Women Baduk Championship KGC Cup”:

First Go News of 2008

In the first Go News of 2008, Rui Naiwei defeated Cho Hyeyeon in the first game of the 9th Female Myeongin (Korean equivalent of the Japanese Meijin). The link to the game record is here.

Rui Naiwei is already famous worldwide that she doesn’t need any more introduction. About Cho Hyeyeon (with the alternative spelling: “Hye Yeon”, as she writes on her own English blog) I wrote briefly in another blog entry.

You can find more games of both players at 361points.com by looking them up in the players page (partial names work too).
